2025 Sunshine Cyber Conference

Dr. George Burruss, and CIBR lab managers, Courtney Weber and Marlena Bolton, presented two CIBR Lab projects at Cyber Florida's annual Sunshine Cyber Conference: Developing AI tools for Law Enforcement and Victims of Cybercrime and Reducing Cybersecurity Risk Through Strategic Messaging: Insights for Improved Cyberhygiene.

2024 Annual American Society of Criminology (ASC) Conference
November 15, 2024
Courtney Weber presented a CIBR Lab project at the American Society of Criminology (ASC) conference in San Francisco, CA, assessing the efficacy of different styles of cybersecurity-focused educational videos on preventing subjects from falling victim to cyber-attacks.
United States Secret Service's Tampa Bay Cyber Fraud Task Force Meeting

Dr. George Burruss presented CIBR Lab's plans to develop an AI chatbot to assist senior victims of different cybercrimes, titled "Project SeniorSafe", to law enforcement agencies located across the state of Florida as well as representatives from other institutions like Raymond James Financial and the US Secret Service. While law enforcement agencies and the cybersecurity industry do track cybercrime incidents, there is a significant gap in understanding the victims. The initiative seeks to gather detailed information about incidents to help law enforcement and cybersecurity professionals develop evidence-based policies and provide resources and guidance to victims of cybercrime.
